Xentral is built with robust security and compliance at its core, adhering to a wide range of industry standards and protocols to ensure the highest levels of safety and integrity. By aligning with key RFCs, such as RFC 959 for File Transfer Protocol (FTP), RFC 7230 for HTTP/1.1, RFC 6749 for OAuth 2.0, and RFC 8446 for the latest TLS security protocols, Xentral ensures secure data exchanges and communication. Additionally, compliance with industry standards like IEC 62682 for Alarm Management further strengthens its secure operational framework. Xentral’s comprehensive adherence to these protocols guarantees safe, reliable, and encrypted interactions, empowering users with peace of mind and confidence in the system's security.
Software Redundancy
Xentral consists of web servers and native applications. The software component redundancy feature of Xentral can be separated to two types of redundancy:
- Web server redundancy is managed by Reverse Proxy. Each web server can be configured to run in active/active or active/standby configuration.
- The native application redundancy such as communication components have their own method of managing their redundancy depending on the functionality of the component.
- The various redundancy methods available in Xentral can be configured to provide a seamless system to ensure the ISCS system can still perform reliably in degraded mode.
Hardware Redundancy
In order to achieve high availability, hardware redundancy is required to work seamlessly with the software to ensure there is no single point of failure in the system design. System design such as redundant servers at different control centres improves the availability and reliability of the ISCS system.
The hardware supplied to a system will ensure the recommended specification are provided to achieve the performance specification required by a system.
ConfigBuilder is Xentral’s intuitive configuration tool, giving users the power to effortlessly design and customize project I/O data and create dynamic graphical interfaces for operators within the Xentral HMI. With ConfigBuilder, you can easily configure and design key system components, including:

Xentral’s scripting capabilities enable flexible, project-specific customization using TypeScript within the built-in Script Editor—making tailored solutions easy to create and manage.
Xentral’s Alarm Server delivers intelligent, real-time alarm and event management across the entire system. Alarms are clearly presented on the HMI Alarm Panel and can also be visualized through intuitive graphical prompts, ensuring users can quickly respond to critical events.
Flexible configuration options—whether individual or template-based—allow alarms to be precisely triggered based on predefined conditions. With support for REST and WebSocket APIs, Alarm Server enables seamless integration and two-way communication, offering realtime status updates and subscription-based notifications through its API.
Beyond just monitoring, the Alarm Server also manages responses like acknowledgment, shelving, and suppression. For systems connected to an RDBMS, all alarm activities and state changes are securely logged via the Database Server, ensuring complete traceability.
Real-Time Database
Xentral features a high-performance Real-Time Database (RTDB) with full read/write capabilities, ensuring fast, reliable, and accurate data access for third-party applications during live operations. Designed for clarity and efficiency, the RTDB organizes data across dedicated services—system, user, project I/O, alarms, files, and communication—ensuring only relevant information is stored and managed.
With built-in tools for configuration and maintenance, Xentral makes real-time data handling seamless, scalable, and ready for integration into any operational environment.
Relational Database
Xentral enables seamless integration with RDBMS databases like MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, and Oracle, unlocking key benefits such as enhanced data consistency, integrity, and security. This integration also boosts data retrieval and manipulation efficiency, while offering unmatched scalability, flexibility, and compatibility with a wide range of tools and platforms.
Xentral's Reporting Tool offers users full control over report configuration, enabling them to customize target data, report design, and generation frequency to meet specific needs. Users can create personalized report templates or take advantage of pre-built general templates for quick and easy reporting. The tool also allows users to design reports to their exact preferences, incorporating widgets like charts, custom themes, and colors. Reports can be easily exported in multiple formats, including PDF and CSV, ensuring flexibility and convenience.
Xentral’s Logs and Audit system provides complete transparency and control, ensuring your operations are always trackable and secure. Detailed log messages capture essential information such as metadata (hostname, server port, timestamp), message type (Success or Error), and the associated application or module, giving you a clear view of system activity.
The system continuously monitors and logs data, creating easy-to-reference log files categorized by day and application/module. This ensures that all key events are captured and readily available whenever needed.
For added security and compliance, Xentral's Audit functionality tracks every user action with precision. Audit records include critical details like username, actions taken, timestamps, status, and changes made, and are securely stored either locally or in a database.
